I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

They finally figured out it was impossible, and decided to cut their losses.  Instead of admitting defeat, they claimed victory

Exactly.  Expect the same thing to happen with the "War on Terror" and "War on Drugs", eventually.

Perhaps the war on terror, but not the war on drugs.  There are too many people who would bitch and piss and moan if the government just said "fuck it, go fuck yourselves up."

The problem with the US government right now is that it's trying to incorporate everything and everyone.  That's too many thins.  We're a melting pot, not a mosaic.

Except with the War on Terror, people will actually believe we won. Nobody believes the RIAA. :)

They already know the War on Drugs is impossible to win, its just career suicide to say so. The War on p2p is impossible, the War on Terror IS possible.

As long as I can hear it or see it, I can copy it.

That should be the catch phrase for (music) piracy supporters worldwide.

We're going to win the war on terror. Highly improbable the most powerful individual army on the planet will lose to a bunch of emo-arabs with rpgs.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

Emo Arabs... ROFL.

If they cut themselves, why can't they cut their ugly beards off?

That's pretty much what happened in Viet Nam.

It's like software engineering: in some cases, throwing more bodies at a problem doesn't solve it.  See my signature.

We can win out by force, in Vietnam we were crippled and we could only bomb select cites chosen by Washington. The combined guerilla tactics and dense jungle is what made the US pull out, not to mention the growing lack of popularity for the war.

In Iraq they had Hussein and his sons / henchmen financing insurgency, we caught/killed them. We killed the other Al-quada leader that financed them and organized attacks. When we catch Bin Laden it will be the straw that broke the camels back. Al-Quada will collapse. Terrorism however will not be eliminated, this is why the war does not stop with Iraq. We vowed to exterminate every last bit of terrorism on the planet and goddamn we're going to do itl
