I'd like to see an asian pay $600 for a peice of shit PS3, remember PS3 "isn't a console" according to sony. It's a fucking shitty rip off of Wii's controllers, sub par graphics, and a non standard propriatary format. I don't possibly see how this can work. Sony is running out of ideas and will die soon. Let's not forget the little rootkit incident, whoever trusts them after that is fucking retarded.
Yet you trust Microsoft after all their bugs/stupid coding in their OS so much why?  Hypocrite.

I think I've proven you're an idiot enough on these forums for you to warrant a reasonable response. Get lost and go learn something about how something else works.

Let's wait until the PS3 comes out and the 360 comes out. I think Microsoft is well established and Sony is going to have a hand full. Especially when their mouse touted feature is one no one will use for a while, Bluray.

Basically: Sony will flop, nintendo will just stay afloat, and Microsoft will dominate.

I'm sure as hell not going to buy that $600 abomination.

Features no one uses? God, Windows sure has a lot of those...

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

On the other hand, no one uses Blu-Ray because there are no players/wont be any blu-ray media for a while.

It has the same graphics capabilities of the 360 with more bullshit, a higher price, a crap controller, and too much hype.

On the other hand, no one uses Blu-Ray because there are no players/wont be any blu-ray media for a while.

No one uses Blu-Ray, yet there will be Blu-Ray capabilities in the PS3, and Blu-Ray media = hi-def? Hi-def junkies will find that a PS3 not only can play games, but can watch videos in hi-def? Games will be in Blu-Ray format? Hah. It's two birds with one stone. People will buy a PS3 for reading Blu-Ray videos and it'll be able to play video games in Blu-Ray format. It'll probably be cheaper (or around the same price) as generic Blu-Ray media players, so eh? You not only get that but you also get the ability to play amazing games.

I'm a fan of the XBox 360, but I see their idea.

And as for the problem of "a while", The PS3 comes out in November. That's plenty of time to get some Blu-Ray media out. :P

Do you even know what Blu-Ray is? If you do you'd understand why saying games can be used on it is rediculous. People arn't just going to go flying to Blu-Ray, it will take time. Sony has no monopoly so they can't Vendor lock in like MS does with XPS. It will be a long time before Blu-Ray becomes mainstream enough for movies to be made for it. A blu-ray player costs $1600 (Not out yet) which will even further halt it's advancement and most of the buyers of PS3 won't be able to take advantage of the Hi-Def goodness even when/if Blu-Ray becomes standard.

Plain and simple: It isn't going to work, it's been discussed endlessly on Slashdot and other sites why it wont work and why Sony is on it's last limb.

I don't see why you have so much sand in your vagina, neither system is (going to be in the PS3's case) worth a damn anyways. 90% of the games will either 1) be availible on both systems, 2) be shitty ports of good PC games, or 3) suck.

The gamecube was by and far the best system of the current generation, so I'm hoping for good things from the Wii. Other than that, I'll stick to my computer :)

1. According to Wikipedia, BDA member Sony has also postponed the release date of their PlayStation 3 console, which uses Blu-ray technology for reading games, until November 2006.. That means to me that the games are in Blu-Ray format. If I'm incorrect, please correct me.

2. For hardly being out, they have one hell of a release list planned out. Same link above.

If the blu-ray player is gonna cost $1600, and the PS3 only $600, I can see where the PS3 will boom like mad.

And how will the PS3 not take advantage of the hi-def goodness? What's wrong with a hi-def plug? Care to tell me why the hi-def plug isn't good enough? That's how the XBox 360 does it...

This is where you're wrong, having a more expensive viewer and cheaper PS3 is going to hurt Blu-Ray's sales, think of a home user who doesn't game. Why would he buy a PS3 he'd never use? He isn't, and then he isn't going to get Blu-Ray since it's still expensive. This won't work there is no way it will work and no way it can work.

Let's think what Blu-Ray is, high definition storage for media. Do games care if you put them in Hi-Def? No, obviously other from reading a Wikipedia article it's appearant that at the time you knew little or nothing about Blu-Ray.

@Hitmen:

The 360 has the most advanced graphics processing capabilities to date, in other words it currently beats any PC hardware on the market. The only thing that will tower over it is DirectX 10 and that won't be out until Vista is out and supported cards are out.

Now let's look at HDTV, a project led by Microsoft and others including Intel. Do you really thing Sony, the rootkitting useless peice of shit company is going to stand up to that? I seriously doubt it.

@Hitmen:
Nintendo is barely surviving, they dominate nothing anymore. The Wii is their last chance to innovate and stand up to the now big boys of the market. Now post factual information on how the Wii or gamecube had/has any chance against feirce competitiors like Microsoft and Sony? Hint: There is none, nintendo only has Mario (the most played out title in history) and some shitty disney games as it's launch titles. There is no way it can win with subpar graphics dated to those used in the XBox.

XBox is shit in Japan, which is where most of the money consoles get flows from.  PS3 rocks asians.

I'd like to see an asian pay $600 for a peice of shit PS3, remember PS3 "isn't a console" according to sony. Actually the PS3 controller is the standard PS controller, only silvery, and with the motion sensor.  If you're going to say it's a rip off of the Wii's controller, get it right.  It's not ripping off anything.  It's similar in that it has a motion sensor, but Nintendo didn't invent the motion sensor.  In fact, I'd say that Nintendo is ripping off EyeToy.  EyeToy was the first controller which allowed gamers to control game action not by buttons, but by motion.  And its graphics are actually really good.  The difference is nominal, and if you care that much, you need a life.  Also, of course its format isn't standard.  It uses a disc system which only has 2 players made for it, and they come out this week.  It can't be standard if it isn't used yet.  Try valid arguments, please.

*cough*Zelda*cough*

Also, I never really understood the whole craze about graphics.  Graphics don't exactly make a game.  For example, Dark Cloud 2 didn't have revolutionary graphics but it was a great game.  I guess I'm one of the few who has always valued  gameplay above graphics.
errr... something like that...

It can't be standard in the small time frame between now and the PS3's release. I've STATED WHY (Crazy prices and the average person, read my posts). It won't become standard, will flop, and will probably be beaten by HD-DVD.

Sony has such a blatant rip off of the Wii, Eye toy was an extension to use and it didn't use the 6 axis motion sensing that the controllers now use. That is what Nintendo pioneered and what Sony stole.

That's my point, the graphics are the same as the 360 yet the PS3 costs way more for a non standard HD player and a ripped controller? I'd rather stay with a 360 which has better titles, better support, better online, realiability (I don't want a rootkit in my controller k?) ..fuck it the 360 has better everything.

Sony loses, MS Wins (again). This is how MS dominates every market they enter and this is what I base my original point on.

Please, if you have any logical argument against this please post it, it'd be interesting to read.
