Agreed, GW looks horrible graphics wise compared to WoW IMO.

Disagreed. Both are absolutely horrible graphics compared to some that I've seen.

Guild Wars, however, had some places that absolutely amazed me.

WoW is meant to have a disney look and be scalable to many users, of course they wouldn't use high end graphics. They use a lot of HDR and bloom and have amazing lighting.

GW has an amazing material system and like WoW awesome lighting (Notice how light refracts off the armor).

WoWs' look is unique and nice in it's own way. They make up for their lacking graphics superiority with vast beauty with hundreds of textures, crazy ambience and wonderful atmosphere. Let's not mention the well known storyline. Blizzard was smart, they released RTSes so people would memorize the storyline. Now when WoW was releaased they didnt need to do much explaining or wait for people to adapt. Nor during world events do they have to explain WHY the scourge are invading. People just know from playing WC3

If GW were more established (and didnt completely fucking suck and have a shitty goal) it might give WoW a run for it's money. Then Blizzard would just sharpshoot them with a SC MMO and end all MMO competition.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

I played GW for 6 months, and I've played WoW for just a couple weeks. The reason GW was so fascinating to me is because I was unable to do any sort of MMORPG due to being on a 28.8k modem.

But about the light reflection- completely agreed. There was a place off of Wizard's Folly, up where the elementist is in pre-searing. It was a cave of ice. When I first when in there with my character I just stood there and looked around for ~10 minutes. Fucking amazing stuff.

Problems with GW:
1. Very, very very easy to get to level 20 ( max ). '
2. The gear is sooooooooooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lame. If you're a priest you're GOING to be using the same gear as everyone else.
WoW's gear also isn't that great. There's not too much variety, but still a shitload more then WoW. D2 has a really nice item database.
3. Not enough multiplayer interaction. As soon as you go out of town, you're basically in your own instance with whatever group you're in.
4. The storlyline is pretty fucking hard to follow. If you pay attention you can get it, but a very small amount of the people actually read the quests.

GW has a pretty decent PvP thing going on, however.

I like WoW a lot better than GW. I don't like the graphics as much, but there's a lot of other things that definitely make up for it. Such as:
1. You can reach 60 within a few weeks, but that would take quite a lot of farming and being very bored. It still takes much longer than GW
2. Gear is partially customizable.. You see different gear for different classes, it's not -too- universal.
3. You're in constant interaction with everyone in your server.
4. There's not really a storyline to follow, which allows you to explore around with your character.
5. BLIZZARD CARES WHAT YOU THINK. They can and -do- adapt to what players need and anything that they might be exploiting.

I wish Blizzard put as much care into WoW as they did D2. If D2 and WoW were released at the same time, had similar graphics, and had an equal amount of care put into both, D2 would be soooooooooooooooooooo fuckkkkkkkkkkkking popular.

What's even crazier is the thought of World of Diablo. That would take over the world in a minute. Sure Diablo II and WoW are completely different games and are hard to compare, but playing games 24/7 and noticing different things about each game gives me a hint that Diablo'd have the edge over WoW. ATM, people don't play Diablo because of how repetitive it gets, and the sheer fucking amounts of dupes and glitches. I fucking hate it, you can't avoid them because of how fucked up the economy is. Blizzard totally ignores it now that they have 6 million people paying them 15 bucks a month for their attention.

Want me to compare it to D2?

I am 100% positive D2 has way, way way way more items than WoW.

As previously discussed, Diablo 2's item database is comprised of redundant armor classes with modified attributes.  While WoW follows the same pattern, the number of completely unique items and item sets rivals even diablo 2's, I would say, despite the fact that the items are far harder to obtain.  In World of Warcraft, the two Ledgendary items are insanely difficult to obtain because they require extremely rare drops in a 40-man instance.  Even if a referenced server is relatively old and has tens of Molten Core raids, there is rarely more than 20 people with Thunderfury or Hand of Ragnaros on one faction.  There are thousands (tens of thousands in some cases) of players on each server...

Diablo 2 pales in comparison to WoW in nearly every aspect.  I won't deny the fact that I still find Diablo 2 enjoyable, but I also am faced with this fact: I played Diablo 2 for a few months and got bored.  I've been playing WoW since December '04.  Frankly, it's an outdated game.  Comparing it to the single most sucessful video game in its history (in terms of awarded revenue) is, simply put, asinine.

You've played WoW for two weeks.  You're not even half way to 60 yet (XP wise).  You have no idea how much more complex WoW is than D2 =P

Here it is, I've played D2 for months and months on end, GW was the same way, and then I moved to WoW. Here's how it works.

D2 was good, however the class balance was TERRIBLE. Period. It was the same few things you did in the game, regaurdless of level.

GW, you can hit the max level (20) in a day. Everywhere you want to go is an instance you're in by yourself. If you want to pvp, it's completely based on the strategy, if you've farmed and worked your ass off for the gear (which you buy, all you farm is the money to buy it), it doesn't matter because you can still get destroyed by a team with a semi-decent strat. Not to mention that the spells all look like the same god damn thing.

WoW, the pvp system in WoW is by far the best over any other MMO out there, no other game I know has a need for positioning, and actual tactics to kill an opponent, for instance, if you are attacking someone from the front, they have a chance to dodge/parry, if you attack from behind they have a lower chance of parrying, and no chance to dodge. If they're stunned they have no chance to do either (usually the case, sometimes it's bugged, rarely though). The pve is also damn good, every pull in an instance requires an amazing amount of teamwork and coordination. Much unlike GW or D2 where you just hit the mob and it dies eventually.

Now, here's my problem with the video,  the characters in WoW are level 1 alts. The ones in GW are max level, and max geared characters.

If you compared a fully geared GW warrior with a fully geared WoW warrior, you'll see the difference. Note, those are both actual pictures of what the characters look like, they are NOT some painted art.

Now, if you'd like to see a real WoW video, take my advice and download Perkulator 4. Perklunt (the creator) is my full out rolemodel. If you don't download this I don't even want to see a post saying GW is anywhere near as good as WoW. If you haven't played a character to 60 just don't talk, because you don't know how fun this game is.
