I'm not sure about Canada, but in the United States big bussiness and capitalism go hand-in-hand.

Not as much as they used to.  If you don't believe me, read The Jungle:)

I'm not sure whether or not that's the source, but some of my friends were talking about a pure-capitalism society.  No copyright laws or trademarks, and if you can afford to you can have somebody killed.  Of course, if you have people killed, then others will probably have you killed.  It sounded like an interesting concept.

But my point is, America is not a true capitalist (big "bussiness") country, just like Russia was never truly communist.

Well, America was founded more on the principles of Lockean liberalism than capitalism.  The two are usually somewhat interchangeable because capitalism is typically seen as an extension of liberalism into the marketplace.

But in a purely liberal society, you couldn't kill someone if you could afford to have it done.

I'd hire to have myself killed and ask for updates on the progress of finding me.  I could stay one step ahead of them.  8)

You never said it had to be legal.

Unions!  Anti-trust laws!
...maybe not a fall TO capitalism but a fall BECAUSE of capitalism
