I just passed the first of two tests for
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in C# for Windows Applications.
Passing the "Windows-based Client Development" exam (which I'll probably take some time next month) gets me the certification, then I can upgrade it by passing the "Designing and Developing Windows Applications with the Microsoft .NET Framework" exam to "Microsoft Certified Professional Developer."
Um, for anyone who wants to go down this path, I should warn you: the test was *much* harder than the practice tests I've taken. But it was definitely worth it.
Also, I have to give a shout-out to iago, who has increased my general awareness of security issues in computers. I got a perfect score on the "Improving the security of .NET Framework applications by using the .NET Framework 2.0 security features" section.
