CD / DVD Burning Software
« on: July 14, 2006, 01:55:02 am »
Since iago said that the newer versions of Nero, in a word, suck, I need some ideas for DVD burning software that can burn DVDs without them being ISO files.  MagicISO can burn the ISO files I have, so I'm not too worried about that.. but what software do you guys use?

DVD Decrypter.  It burns like...everything.  I use it to make my game/movie "backups"

If you intend to burn movies, you also need some way to convert them to MPEG2.  My friend has a pretty good program for doing that, and it's freeware too, if you need it I'll ask him what it's called.

I use CDBurnerXP Pro3. It's never failed me, but I have no idea how it would stack up to other burners. It also showed me exactly what my burner is capable and not capable of burning, which was a very nice feature.

Oh yeah, its free!

I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Why not get a real version of Nero? I use, and have been using for a while now, Nero 6 Ultra Edition. It's never failed me.

I <3 Roxio.  :)
I hate you now.

It probably stems from two three things:
1.) I got Easy CD Creator 3.5 with a computer I got in... oh, 1998.
2.) It was really straightforward... and,
3.) It works just as well now in the Creator Classic mode as any other program I've ever used.
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

I have never, ever been able to get a cd burned with Roxio to work on any other computer.

Are you using Drag-to-Disc?  They use a funny UDF format.

But, Easy Media Creator works great for me.

I haven't used Roxio since I was forced to help someone with it at work probably 5-6 months ago.  I haven't used it for personal use in 2-3 years.

Maybe it's changed, but I much prefer a powerful user interface to a wizard.

Oh.  I always used Creator Classic.  It lets you outline exactly how you want your ISOs or your discs to be laid out.

Creator Classic has existed as part of the program since I first used it (like I said, 3.5, and it's now version 8).

Guess it was luser error.  :P

Roxio.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

My friend has an ftp server that still holds DvD express on it. Which I would like to say is the best DVD burning software out there. I will ask him for it.

If it's easier to unintall it and install Nero, it's not worth my time messin with it ;)
