Work
« on: July 14, 2006, 05:25:40 pm »
Work is still awesome.

We accumulated too much beer in the fridge, so I had a few.

Then we played foozball for awhile.  I won.

Then we played Airhockey, with 11 pucks.  I did awful.

Then we played pingpong with no rules.  Off the ceiling, walls, etc, everything was legal.  We didn't count score.

Now I'm off work in 10 mins.  How to kill the time...

We played airhockey in church (don't ask, we have an airhockey table in the church) with three pucks. I dominated my friend Trina three times, once 7-2 and twice 7-1.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Unless you played airhockey in an actual church service, it isnt nearly as cool as iago sayin he had a few brewskies & play pingpong all over the office

I'm pretty sure it was an incidental statement, not a comparison.

No, my boss is too smart to outsource.  We work quite closely with our customers, which is one of the keys to good software output.  When you outsource a project, you rarely get exactly what you want.

Yes.  The project I'm working on is for a company in the same building on the same floor as us.  And they were around, yes. :)

Totally off topic, split if you want: But speaking of kegs... Have you ever been to The Keg? OMFG IT'S AWESOME. My dad had a filet mignon blue rare... it was like a slice of heaven.

Not during a church service. We had a laid-back type night last Wednesday, with the room lit by some lamps instead of celing lights, and a guitar + vocal CD for worship (the entire band was unavailable that night, too, so eh..), so we were in the "youth room" of the church where all our cool stuff is (the pool table, airhockey table, foozball table, couches, 2x N64, PSX, XBox, a few TV's, etc) and immediately after we ate cookies and played games.

Yes, a few times.  However, you have to go there expecting to spend $60 - $100/person, if you want to do it right, so it's a little costly.

Over here the most expensive steak there is about $30.  I don't imagine it's that much more expensive in Winnipeg, so what do you mean by "if you want to do it right"? :P

As far as my experiences go, Hy's is the best steakhouse in the world.  You should try it if it's in your town, although they are fairly exclusive and rare in comparison to The Keg.

Edit: iago may be able to get to one  :D

There's also the appetizer, most people like to have wine (I don't, so subtract that), dessert, and tip.  You can't go to the Keg looking for a cheap meal, it's more fun if you go looking for an expensive one.  But that's just me. :)

Hmm, I've walked through that building before (it's part of an underground complex downtown), but I've never seen that place before.  Sounds good, though!  :)

And for anybody who cares about useless trivia, the Richardson Building is the tallest building in Winnipeg.  Not that anybody cares, though (it's the building on the  top-right (north-east) side of the intersection of Portage&Main, pictured in that map) :)
