Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepard meet shepard
But you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing
You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before
But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate
Artist: Alanis Morissette
Song: Uninvited
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Finding out there are things worse than kissing you -- this is love.

Ticks & Leeches

Suck and suck.
Suckin up all you can suckin up all you can suck and suck.
Workin up under my patience like a little tick.
Fat little parasite.

Suck me dry.
My blood is bruised and borrowed. You thieving bastards.
You have turned my blood cold and bitter,
Beat my compassion black and blue!

I hope you're choking. I hope you choke on this.
I hope you're choking. I hope you choke on this.

Taken all I can taken all I can, we can take. Taken all you can taken all you can, we can take.
Got nothing left to give to you.
Blood suckin parasitic little blood suckin parasitic little blood suckin parasitic little tick!
Take what you want and then go.

Is this what you wanted? Is this what you had in mind?
Is this what you wanted? Cause this is what you're getting.

I hope, I hope, I hope, you choke!

I don't know if I posted this one already or not.. Oh well.

Quote
Rise up now, my darling
Pull this poncho off you
Trade it for what is in my trembling hand
Throw it on
Now we bear the colors
Of the life eternal
Here on our sweatshirts they are gold and tan
Peach and grey

I hear sung the song of birds
The notes of thrush and wren
And all things are sighing out
From burrow, nest, and den
Sever the silver cord
And break the golden bowl
And let us return to dust
And be at last made whole

Steal away forever
Dance alone and darkly
Learn things forgotten
Things that you missed, ways to move

No more - no more talk of where or when
No more - no feelings of vague rapport
No more - no leaning with outstretched arms
No more - no bells on your shoes or sleaves,
Neck or hair

And all the colors are gold and tan
And they are peach and grey
And they are gold and tan and peach and grey
Song: Gold, Tan, Peach, and Grey
Artist: Bodies of Water
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Quote
I am trying to be heroic
In an age of modernity
I am trying to be heroic
As all around me history sinks
So I enjoy and I devour
Flesh and wine and luxury
But in my heart I am so lukewarm
Nothing ever really touches me
At the Trois Garcons, we meet at precisely 9 o clock
I order the foie gras and I eat it with complete disdain
Bubbles rise in champagne flutes, but when we kiss I feel nothing
Feasting on sleeping pills and Marlboro reds
Self-pity won’t save you
Oh how our parents suffered for nothing
Live the dream like the 80's never happened
People are afraid to merge on the freeway
Disappear here
We stroll past the queue, into the magazine launch party
I am handed a pill and I swallow it with complete disdain
Kick drum pounds off beat high hats remember to look bored
We suck each other's faces and make sure we are noticed
The cocaine won't save you
East London is a vampire it sucks the joy right out of me
Dressed like the cover of a magazine. I've aged so in these golden years
Song: Song for Clay
Artist: Bloc Party
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

I know I have posted parts of these lyrics before, but I want to post the whole song.
Quote
Haïti, mon pays,
wounded mother I'll never see.
Ma famille set me free.
Throw my ashes into the sea.

Mes cousins jamais nés
hantent les nuits de Duvalier.
Rien n'arrete nos esprits.
Guns can't kill what soldiers can't see.

In the forest we lie hiding,
unmarked graves where flowers grow.
Hear the soldiers angry yelling,
in the river we will go.

Tous les morts-nés forment une armée,
soon we will reclaim the earth.
All the tears and all the bodies
bring about our second birth.

Haïti, never free,
n'aie pas peur de sonner l'alarme.
Tes enfants sont partis,
In those days their blood was still warm

Song: Haiti
Artist: The Arcade Fire

A translation I found:
Quote
Haiti, my country,
Wounded mother I’ll never see.
My family set me free.
Throw my ashes in to the sea

My unborn cousins
Haunt the nights of Duvalier
Nothing stops our spirits,
Guns can’t kill what soldiers can’t see.

In the forest we lie hiding,
Unmarked graves where flowers grow.
Hear the soldiers’ angry yelling,
In the rivers we will go.

All the stillborns (or walking dead) form an army,
Soon we will reclaim the earth.
All the tears and all the bodies
Bring about our second birth.

Haiti, never free,
Never fear to sound the alarm.
Your children have left,
In those days their blood was still warm.

This song speaks to the past of Haiti; however, with current events it is still, sadly, some-what applicable.
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Why is it that people went nuts over the Haiti earthquake, but there was hardly a mention of the more recent one in China?

I can't really answer that question.  I could speculate that it might be because Haiti doesn't have as many resources as China or something like that?  I don't really know.

This isn't me going nuts over the earthquake in Haiti (not sure if you were under the impression).  The only reason I bring it up is because I have a song that some-what relates.  I have no music about China.

The Chinese government probably censored the earthquake.

That doesn't mean those who found the Haitian deaths tragic should find the Chinese deaths any less tragic.  It wasn't as severe as the one in Haiti, but I didn't hear as much as a peep about it on the news... I thought that was kind of amusing.

Oh, I'm definitely not accusing you of anything.  Sorry if it seemed that way.  It was just a nice segue into the subject.

Oh my love
Here in our darkest hour
It is you, my desert flower
That I am dreaming of
We're up to our neck in foreign soil
We are the sacramental spoils
And they love to choke
The rivers with my brothers' blood

We have given our bodies
To the Mexican army
But my heart and soul
Belong to you my love
So let the enemy guns
Cut me to ribbons
For my eternal soul
Will know the way back home
Song: Enemy Guns
Artist: Devotchka
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.
