Microsoft Word Haxxing
« on: August 04, 2006, 12:31:33 pm »
I learned a new shortcut key for Word completely by accident today: Alt+X.

Apparently it translates the character immediately to the left of the cursor into its Unicode representation.  I discovered this when I went to press X typing "exemplified" and the E turned into 0065 (small "e" is Unicode U+0065).

Nothing particularly amazing, just something neat I thought.  :)
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.

I'm just afraid of getting a virus.  But if you use protection (firewall), maybe we can arrange something...

But wait.. I heard somewhere that you have a 3.5" floppy.. is that true?

And is it true that inexperienced Linux users (like MyndFyre, for example) tend to "man mount"?

They are also prone to fsck their own 3.5" drives for no good reason. Maybe because their filesystem sucks and so do they.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I don't think you got the joke.  And incidentally, you don't add stars.  Plus you'd have to be logged in as root or be using sudo to do that.

Why not add stars? That way it leaves / completely empty, versus removing /! :P

Both ways work, slightly differently.  /* removes all files under /, and everything unde them.  / removed /, and all directories below it.  Since you can't remove /, it has the exact same affect.  Makes no difference!
