Darkxire?
« on: September 14, 2006, 08:44:09 pm »
I was wondering. "This mostly goes to Kraze and wires" If Darkxire is a good guild name / idea for all our alts /twinks. Since Darkwire is mainly 45+ now we should maybe keep of the spam and the begging of the run through VCs out of the guild chat and put it in our alt guild.

I was thinking anybody 45 and below should go to Darkxire and once they hit 45+ that we should allow them to be back in Darkwire for the PvP and PvE runs. I thought that might be an idea?

P.S I am going to shoot for Guild meeting Next friday night around 7:00 o clock server time?

DoG is on the Twin Emps in AQ40. I'd say that's pretty serious. Don't talk when you just recently hit 60 and have no clue what you're talking about.

Yes, I'd agree.  DoG is a pretty serious guild to have progressed that far, that fast.  :)

Time? How many 60s are there in your guild? Even then, waiting for enough to hit 60 and getting 60s will take a long time. After that, they have to be ready to raid! Getting 40 of them to show up at once will be a pain, and then getting them to do what you say will be even more trouble. Good luck becoming a serious raiding guild :P

I still think it's a stupid idea.  Especially seeing as we only have like 20 people in the 50+ range.

You cant start a raiding guild down there. You have to start it as a raiding guild, not a normal guild. Starting where you guys are at is different, you will have to create a new guild for the 60s, not for the lower levels. There, I just figured it out. Make a clan for the 60s of the guild who want to raid!

Whats the difference.. It's the same idea. Both are secluding the end-game from the other guys. I'd just rather keep us in darkwire, seeing as thats how it started. Personally, I don't care wether you think it's possible or not.

As I don't play any longer (account runs out the 26th), I don't feel I have much of a say in what happens, but here goes.  I don't think it's right for us to up and suddenly abandon the lower levels.  You might consider them noobs, unworthy of any attention from the higher levels whatsoever, but what is the point of a guild?  In my opinion, a guild in any mmo is there to help each other.

I don't think anything good can come from casting the lower levels out of the main guild.  Many people join guilds for friends, and if those friends are willing to kick them out of the main guild because of a level, what does that friendship mean?  I can remember in Star Wars: Galaxies when my guild started a guild war with another guild, we took the crafters out of the guild so they wouldn't get hurt.  Even though we explained why, many of them didn't come back to the guild when the war was over. Will those low level members even want to stay in the guild after we betray their trust once?
errr... something like that...

G'damn, that's what Sidoh is saying. It takes time. You have to establish your guild a name, usually through your members becoming usuals in the popular pugs, recruit some.. No shit it's going to take a lot of time. No guilds are just born ready to raid.. Even if you took the top of every guild and put them together, it would take more time to get them all on the same level of strategy.

WoW is a very time-consuming thing.. So don't just plan on being an independent guild.

..What DDrake said. If someone is that 'noobish' where it's at the point where you want to reform your guild to get away from him/her, tell that person to check back with the guild once they've come to an understanding of the game and remove them. I've been in a guild where they allow virtually anyone into the guild, and there's a lot of fucktards that just end up getting ignored or universally-hated.. but rarely kicked. Such cases of passive administration don't usually end up well; Sidoh and I were both in TBM, and there was more than enough drauma because of all the hostilities in the guild that could've been avoided with a denial to join the guild in the first place.. ( IN MY OPINION! )

Can't fool a FoOoL

I don't have the time.  I play maybe 1 hour of games a day spread out all over.  Usually, it's just a game like Mario Kart or Megaman.  It's just so hard to log on and play an mmorpg (or any rpg for that matter) for any worthwhile bit of time.

Also, I have a debit card and just use that; game cards are so pre-adult. :P

You know, some people don't have a random $30 to go out and buy a game card. The process to get a game card for me would probably be:

1. Save up money.
2. Bug parents day in and day out for a ride to town. "Later!"
3. End up blowing the saved money on a binge-lunch at school or something.
4. Wash and repeat.

I'm not sure if I'm going to renew or not. When BC comes out, definately, but right now I'm not sure.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

I disagree. My guild formed 3 weeks ago and we downed Huhu in AQ40 (Twim emps are next!). MC and BWL are on farm. We are starting naxx friday. This guild was the result of two good guilds disbanding, so we are living evidence that you can be wrong!

You are not considering the time that each member has already spent learning to understand the strategy required to be a successful raiding guild.  Just because it has been spent beforehand doesn't mean that it can be ignored.

Well, no guild always one shots every boss anyways.

Which is exactly what we were saying.

I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

I'm not really sure what I wanna do right now. I've given this a lot of thought, probably too much.  :P I don't plan to cast anyone out of darkwire. Nomatter what level they are. One thing I do plan on doing is closing recruitment under 55 though. The members of darkwire are incredibly loyal and that's a great thing to see. I'm just not sure how I'm going to go about getting us raiding yet.

So, those of you that doubted us, die. We went from nothing, to starting ZG.  :) We're progressing more and more everyday.
