It doesn't matter.  No place (talking restaraunts and the such) sell Coke AND Pepsi, so if you order one of them you get what they have.
Not true.  There are many places around here (typically, non-corporate places) that supply both.  Examples include:
- Hong's soup place
- Pembina Inn Restaurant
- The bingo place I used to work
- Every grocery store
- My fridge at home

And there are plenty of others, those are just ones that immediately come to mind.

In almost every case, the server asks "Is <oposing company's cola> okay?"  I don't mind either one, but I'm able to tell the difference between them.  If given a glass of Coke, I'm pretty sure I could tell you it was Coke.

The only reason a resturaunt is constricted to one company's soda is because they sign a contract saying they will only sell their product.  If they don't have a contract, they can sell whatever they want. :P

I ususally ask if they have pepsi or coke, and then order mountain dew or sprite. When I was younger I would always ask for Coke but I got tired of getting asked if pepsi was ok so I either ask beforehand or look for the machine if it's visible. Or, of course, order water or sweet tea. :)

Those last 3 don't even count, and they are all disqualified anyway by the mere fact that you're in Canada.

Did you say that wrong, or did you just never intend to drink them?

The point is, I frequently have to make the decision.

Pepsi manufactures Mountain Dew, Coke manufactures Sprite.

Ah, good point.  I knew that, but it didn't occur to me :P

I actually prefer Coke, 7up, and Barq's for my cola, lemon-lime, and root beer choices.
