Newby wrecking topics
« on: October 15, 2006, 10:29:08 pm »
I'm a slide attendant. You know, the dude who watches for the green button and says "ok go" and presses the red one? I hope to be able to fork that task to the back burner and meditate on the job or something. But yeah, I get paid more than my frycook friend who's been working at Wendys for like two years (7.25 starting vs 6.50 after two years) so I'm not going to complain.

So no, I'm not saving lives.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

What did you expect managers to do? Coach? I am indeed a football manager. But it's football equipment manager.. during the game, yes, I just hand out water, but before the game, behind the scenes, is the real work. Ever see those "do not enter" signs around? Who puts them up? The tables on the sidelines? Us. And above all, who films the games? Us. So don't call it a bullshit position because we do a hell of a lot more work than you give us credit for, and with no insult to you, we probably work just as hard as you do out on the lax field, both before during and after the game.

Taping signs up... putting up tables... filming games... you've gotta be kidding me. That's volunteer work. That's what parents of kids volunteered to do for our team. I give credit to the parents that volunteer to do that for our lacrosse team.

Ahahaha. That's cute. Really. Our 12 hour a week practices (for JV... varsity practices are longer than 2 hours normally) would make you seem like your job is as simple as shitting. That's not even including tournaments or games.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

He got an easy job in a much better environment than most fast food places, and seems to pay above minimum wage.  Would it meet everyone's approval if he got a more shitty job that paid less?  Wtf?
I think it's the fact that he said he's a lifeguard when he is, in fact, a slide attendant. :-\
errr... something like that...
