Top 10 thrash metal albums of the late 80's
« on: March 01, 2005, 08:07:06 pm »
I have narrowed it down to the top 10 thrash metal albums of the 80's. (sorry 90s, but you were unincluded :()

I made it so only 1 band got 1 album in. Otherwise, the list would be dominated by Slayer/Exodus/Sepultura/Overkill.

This list is in no particular order. At all.
Exodus - Bonded by Blood (1985)
Slayer - Reign in Blood (1986)
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends (1986)
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill (1986)
Sodom - Agent Orange (1989)
Sepultura - Beneath the Remains (1989)
Anthrax - Among the Living (1987)
Metallica - Kill 'Em All (1983)
Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence (1987)
Overkill - The Years of Decay (1989)

Compiled by yours truly. If you don't have those albums, get them today.

EDIT -- If I had to list them in order from #10 to #1, the list would look something like this.
10. Anthrax - Among the Living
9. Sodom - Agent Orange
8. Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence
7. Metallica - Kill 'Em All
6. Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
5. Slayer - Reign in Blood
4. Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
3. Overkill - The Years of Decay
2. Exodus - Bonded by Blood
1. Dark Angel - Darkness Descends

So get them, in order from #1 to #10.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

South of Heaven is a good album, but it's nowhere near as thrashy as Reign in Blood.

I didn't know you listened to Slayer! :)

What tatoo's do you have? Have any pictures? But, I think my favorite slayer songs are either Raining blood, Angle of Death, or Bloodline.

Holy fuck Slayer concerts here (Portland, Oregon) are fucking crazy! You can't walk in the door with out getting punched in the head. The moshpit is just a whole fuckload of white skin heads in wife beaters punching eachother! It's AWESOME!!

How can you keep on bumping Slayer back like that?! Isn't it like.. against your moral values? Where you not raised a good, wholesome person?!

That is Slayer's best thrash metal album, and it is nowhere near as good as the ones in front of it.

Updated the list again, by the way. Destruction +1!

10 Exumer - Possessed by Fire
9. Metallica - Kill 'Em All
8. Anthrax - Spreading the Disease
7. Slayer - Reign in Blood
6. Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
5. Destruction - Infernal Overkill
4. Vio-Lence - Eternal Nightmare
3. Overkill - The Years of Decay
2. Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
1. Exodus - Bonded by Blood

Updated. Again. Damn, I love the internet.

10. Metallica - Ride the Lightning
9. Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
8. Anthrax - Spreading the Disease
7. Destruction - Infernal Overkill
6. Artillery - By Inheritence
5. Possessed - The Eyes of Horror
4. Vio-Lence - Eternal Nightmare
3. Overkill - The Years of Decay
2. Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
1. Exodus - Bonded by Blood

That is a kickass thrash line-up. If I had a radio running, that would be playing every Thursday. THRASH THURSDAY!!@~#~

EDIT -- Updated again! Artillery for the win. I'll count January 1990 as the 1980's since they probably pushed for a 1989 release! :p

EDIT -- Updated. Again. Sorry Slayer, yer off the list. Anthrax replaces you!
