I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Linux is licensed under GNU, I thought. Hence the name GNU/Linux?
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

wine works so-so, and is annoying to set up.  But it's free/opensource and runs quite well, once you get it going.

Cedega works pretty well, but all it's really doing is configuring Wine for you.  It's commercial, so it sucks.

The name GNU/Linux comes from the partnership between GNU and Linux.  But yes, Linux is licensed under the GPL, and most Linux distros are pretty picky about non-opensource components.  That's why you don't see a lot of video-card and wireless driver support.  If you're really curious about the evolution and linkage of GNU and Linux, find the movie Revolution OS.

Yes, but that does not mean that Torvalds and Stallman share similiar ideas. It was just convenient for Torvalds to use the GPL.

Looks bad for Solaris.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.
