Etude in A Minor
« on: November 30, 2006, 09:52:12 pm »
Here's the first Etude I've ever written, and I'm pretty damn proud of it. I made it to get my shred speed up in playing notes in groups of 4, because I was irritated it wasn't as fast as my triplets. This is for guitar for those who don't know me.

Anyways, here. I'll hopefully have an actually recording of it soon. I'll post the tabs if anyone wants them.

It doesn't sound too difficult.  Good job.  :)

Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to add more to it sometime soon as well.

I can see piano, I can also see your fingers smoking if you play that on guitar!

I guess I'll have to video tape my red-hot fingers while I'm at it then. :)

How long have you been playing, and what motivated you to compose this?  Is it for a class?

About 4 years. I tried learning some Yngwie stuff before I wrote this, and had more trouble than I thought I would. I then realized it was the Paul Gilbert shred thing I do is just a bunch of triplets, and Yngwie plays all his notes in groups of 4. I decided this would help me with that.

What guitar players do you listen to?

Randy Rhoads is probably my hero. Behind him is my guitar teacher Rob Robbins from Vayden, then John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker, and the list goes on.

Tabs please. :)
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

I don't know why I didn't do this before, but I harmonized it by thirds now, so it should sound sexier. Check the first link. Also, be sure to right click and save as if you have Quicktime installed. It'll try to autoplay it, making it sound really bad.
