I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

He was shot on stage.

On another note, I don't see why people make such a big deal out of Dimebag's murder.  He wasn't the only musician to ever have been shot on stage...

It's not how he was murdered, but that he was murdered. Dimebag was by far the greatest guitarist for his genre of metal, and one of the topic guitarists for the entire genre of metal.

I wouldn't say the best, but he was definitely up there in terms of musicianship and influence.

I meant his genre of metal. I categorize genres pretty specifically.

In 2003, the band of Pantera split up, and Dimebag chose to continue his musical career in a different band. Skip to 2004, a little more than a year after, on exactly this day, while playing a show, was shot 5 times point blank in the back of the head by a deranged fan. Though too late, an officer then shot this lunatic fan in the face with a 12 gauge police issue shotgun.

I wouldn't say he was the best of metal, either, but still a damn good guitarist, probably still loaded with ideas when he died.

Too bad he had to go join Damageplan anyway.

Also, the ass that shot him started firing into the crowd after shooting Dimebag.

I know, I saw. I suppose he most likely is the king of guitar on thrashy/groove stuff. And miles ahead of competition, too. =)

There are very few heroes (martyrs might be a better word) in music: Elvis, Hendrix, Lennon, Dimebag, Tupac -- they all have a huge following in their respective genres.

You're almost right, iago, but according to a whole lot of people, Tupac and Elvis are still alive, which makes them not-martyrs.

+ Randy Rhoads.

Yesterday was also the 24th anniversary of John Lennon's death. At least I think it was the 24th, might've been the 26th.

Absolutely.  I totally missed him.

Jim Morrison might also make the list, though I don't personally know anything about him.
