sweet mother of god what did I do to my laptop!?
« on: December 22, 2006, 08:17:44 pm »
I created 3 partions (1 for fedora, 1 for ubuntu, 1 for a linux swap)

I just tried to format them to NTFS from ext3 to clear them off so I can readd it all back to main drive.

after windows tried that it wont boot any furhter than this grub loader.

It just goes from the main screen (with esc for boot order & f0 for setup) then flashes  "grub> _"
I can enter commands, but dont know how to use this at all.

suggetsions?

fixmbr

(Run that in a repair command prompt on the Windows XP CD.)

Or reinstall Windows XP, and it'll automatically replace your bootloader.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

You can use a downloaded XP disc.  If your laptop came with XP installed, it'll have the CD-Key on a sticker somewhere on the bottom of it.

Yes, but don't post torrent links on this forum.  Also, your title sucks, so I renamed it... kinda.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

To prevent any legal issues if they ever came up?  It's more of a just-in-case thing then a "HOLY CRAPZ  M$ IS AFTER MEZ1!!1!"
