Client Emulation (Don't move before you read)
« on: December 31, 2006, 01:45:28 pm »
I think this goes here, anyways..

I packet logged my friends client again, after figuring out some more stuff about it...and I got to the packet where it sends my user name, client version..etc but I don't see a my password in there (in the encrypted form, or non-encrypted..) I found that kind of odd; any help?

EDIT:

I was just thinking, I guess it could be possible for the client to encrypt the password into the textfile (.CONF) (which it does), but then before sending it over, it encrypts the encrypted data again....

Password=0.51866980.58282670.46500193.203845E-020.37774270.1376880.65417770.1532316$0.60304370.51769320.59643780.32962540.90929840.77007190.57587390.4316001$5.756873E-020.27521190.96060020.32698180.64769790.36346710.3699070.3268447$2660

Yet, When sending my username it sends
1160 97121050054054048
After it.

I figured this out...sort of, you guys will probably 1). Bitch at me or 2). Laugh

But uh, this is the most I could get out of the Packet Log

Packet 1 S>C: Print - Join ({You})(Flags)
Packet 2 S>C: Print - Join (Username#1)(Flags)
Packet 3 S>C: Print - Join (Username#2)(Flags)
...etc until 0 users.
Packet 4 S>C: msg Print - News
Packet 5 S>C: msg Shadowed Net Server
Packet 6 S>C: connected
----- Client -- To -- Server ------
Packet 1 C<S: connect {username}{password??}{Channel}{Version}
--- Flags ---
Ub = User?
AM W = Admin?

I could post a packet log if you want; just request it.
