Warcraft Lore.
« on: February 02, 2007, 12:08:48 am »
Just been reading up on it and I must say that is it very well in depth. I just got done in my HTML class and I swear that I can teach a class myself on the story of Warcraft.

Discuss warcraft lore?

If you dont know it very well.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Lore

Thats like a days worth of reading. I also suggest beating all the Campgains in RoC and TFT.

P.S I expect Joe to replay frist so a question to him. I understand that Lord Kazzak sits at Throne of Kil'jaden know. Do you have any quotes from blizzard annoucing that Kil'jaden will be encoutnerd in the game?

[edit] Also did anybody know about this? http://www.wowwiki.com/Calia_Menethil

I don't know anything of Kil'Jaden's current status. I remember that when we last left him he was chasing someone down for not doing a favor promised to the legion.. I remember him being really huge (it was his avatar) and talking to someone who was standing on a cliff -- Illidan, I think.

So, if we're against Illidan (or are the Blood Elves still allied to him?), and we're against the Burning Legion, I don't know who we're going to ally, or if we're going to fight it three-way, but it's probably safe to guess that where we find Illidan, we'll find Kil'Jaden.

It'll probably come out in a future content patch, since right now the current status of the lore is that Stormwind is reunited with the troops from Nethergard and the Sons of Lothar, and the new backup is helping explore the world of Draenor which I guess never got explored properly. I do remember a quote (I don't have it handy, though) that all of the heros in the statues in the Valley of Hero's will be found, but Blizzard (probably intentionally) did not mention what status they're in. I think Danath, Kurdran, and Khadgar are accounted for, leaving Turalyon and Alleria to be found.. who will probably be together, considering they hit the bed and made Arator. I think that'll be Blizzard's next move.

I'd consider myself kinda well-versed in the lore already. I played much of WarCraft II, including Beyond The Dark Portal, and all of WarCraft III and The Frozen Throne. Most of the WarCraft: Orcs and Humans lore I've picked up throughout the lore books in Stormwind, and I read "Lord of the Clans". I want to get my hands on a copy of Day of the Dragon and whatever the one was about Khadgar taking up an apprenticeship with Medivh (I think that's the most critical one there is, actually), and then start on War of the Ancients.

Speaking of which, if anyone has any lorebooks they don't want, feel free to mail them to me.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Yep its true. All the Statues in the Vally of heros are in BC and all are in the Sons of Lothar Faction.

As for the Lore books. I read Lord of the Clans as well and I thought it was a great move on Making Drek'Thar the Last Horde Boss in AV since he was the General of the Frostwolves clan since Thrall was kidnaped and when he becomes Warchief of the Horde and His Jounry in Warcraft III RoC.

I checked out Last Guradian and from what I heard, since I never read the book. Khadgar killed Medivh when he tried opening up the Darkportal. He and the rest of the people in BC "sons of lothar" go through and shut it down from their side thus people thought they were dead. After the portal was open A big blast wave I guess made The black morass a barren desert thus Blasted Lands came along and Swamp of Sorrows wasent effected as bad.

Sorry to revive the dead topic but I must say I do enjoy the warcraft lore as well, I ordered the entire series of "pocketbooks" online from blizzard and I must say I loved reading all of them. Personally Lord of the Clans and The Last Guardian (Medivh's Story) were my favorite.
