My Introduction
« on: March 28, 2007, 12:50:28 am »
Hello, my name is Michael, and I'm a sophomore Computer Science major/Math minor at a small university located in the town of Farmville, VA.  Yes, like the town's name suggests, there are quite a bit of farms in the area.

Hmmm additional info...

In my spare time I enjoy watching anime, programming, and learning new programming languages.  I'm also an ex-Battle.net Bot developer from the vL Forums (Quit bot development 2 years ago, but I started sophomore year of HS writing them in VB6, then realized the numerous bad habits I had picked up from using VB6 and switched to writing them in C++ =P).  I still visit the vL forums and post in spurts... usually b/c I'm procrastinating.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi to everyone and officially introduce myself.

Which animes?
lol, strangely listing my top favorite requires careful thought.  But a few relatively recent series would be Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Shakugan no Shana, and CODE Geass.  A couple of oldies would be GTO and Akira.  I enjoy a wide range of genres though.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

No I just assumed since you said "university" and I only know of two schools in Farmville.

Speaking of which, I'll be a freshman at Hampden-Sydney next year.

Ah cool.

I just realized HSC has its own census-designated place hahaha... I just knew it's location relative to Farmville and Keysville.

IIRC you must be hismajesty[yL].

Yeah it's just a few minutes from Longwood. You head past LU heading toward the Wal-Mart and eventually you'll take a right and you'll pretty much be on campus. Have you been there before? I know there is a lot of interaction between the schools on a professional level as well as social.

In fact there's a HSC/Longwood class of '11 group on facebook.

Yeah, HSC and Longwood have a long long history.  Pretty much kind of what you'd expect from what was a traditionally all women's college and one of the oldest private all male colleges in VA ^^.

But yeah.  Only contact I've had with HSC students was last year when I was in Catholic Campus Ministries, which is a joint group at Longwood and HSC.  Only been there once and that was for mass.

In the country. In fact, it's older than the United States.

Anyway it's cool to see someone pretty close. When I first read your post I got excited thinking you were talking about Sydney but then I realized you said university.

Is it true that Longwood guys don't like H-SC guys because the H-SC guys take all of the Longwood women?

Nah just kidding...maybe I'll see you around. Probably not though since I'm not doing computer science or anything.

It's probably true in the sense of HSC guys getting the freshman girls I think.  From what I observed last year, a good amount of the freshman girls went out with older HSC guys that they meet at parties and stuff.

Longwood is very greek based.   I'm assuming that HSC is too.  To be honest, I stay as far away from anything greek that's not an academic organization or honor society.

Yeah pretty much all social activities are put on my one of the fraternities, but you don't have to be Greek to participate.

Are you going to be at any of the bandfest for Spring Weekend at LU?
