Microsoft Office 2007
« on: April 02, 2007, 09:00:45 pm »
Trash this if you want..I just wanted your guys feedback.

I find Microsoft Word 2007 a lousy piece of crap due to two major reasons..
- Far to different from the previous versions.
- Really complicated with too many buttons and tabs.

Your thoughts? Comments?

It's quite nice. The ribbon makes things really easy to find. However, it does not give enough shortcuts, and it's hard to move away from the sluggish ribbon. :|

I very much appreciate a number of the new features, particluarly live preview and a lot of the new formatting options available in such tools as Excel.

A lot of people won't really find the OpenXML format to be useful (.docx, .xlsx, and .pptx), but that's pretty cool too.  For those of you who don't know, the Office 2007 file formats are series of XML files and resources stored in a .zip archive with the appropriate application extension.

I also appreciate that in Word and Excel, at least, they've gone to lengths to keep all of the menu shortcuts available so that I could use the keyboard shortcuts I've come to know and love.
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.
