I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I was using beta7 and yea, it takes a while to adjust to. Using the gtk theme switcher made it look a bit better :|. Anyways, I don't think they could handle the traffic :(. Mine still crashes after like 12 hours which kinda sucks :(.

I don't see anything wrong with it, other than the usual stuff I always disable in Gaim ("Show buddy details" being the most important). Using green/red for present/away icons, and not showing the client people are using, looks weird. I don't really see a point in showing which client people are using, for the most part, because it doesn't affect the majority of people. Who cares if John's on Y!M or AIM or whatever?

Rate limits... protocol features... client restrictions... /nudge :)

The main use I have for it is you have the ability to use different font styles in one message on mostly everything but MSN.  Plus, as Ergot mentioned, the rate limits etc are nice to know.

I haven't upgraded yet...

I personally love the OSX version (if you could call it that), Adium. It isn't perfect, but the interface is customizable enough that I can make it just how I want it. (Not to mention everything is pretty on Mac! *waits to be shot*)

Except Java's swing... Its plain ugly unless you code specificly for macs, which defeats the purpose of using it. :(

I prefere kopete, but I'm a KDE person... the only GTK program I really use is vmware's server console.

Notice I said "the majority of people"?

I'm pretty sure they didn't have all those clients 20 years in the past.

I'd guess that a pretty fair amount of people who use gaim care about those things.

That still isn't what I said.

Gaim is obviously trying to target a larger audience.

Kaleeko shall be spareda horrible death for being of the female gender..but then again Sniper is spared on the same grounds.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

New site layout!

I'm getting used to it. I have the Pidgin buddy list window at least looking decent and the new tabbed interface is still fucking hideous. But it'll just take getting used to!
