:(

It'll probably like War3, and it'll probably suck. Everybody will migrate from Starcraft because it's *gasp* 3d, and ruin that too.

I'm not looking forward to it.

It's NOT a MMORPG! It's an RTS that will be played of Battle.Net

I'm skeptical, but hopeful. I don't really have any games holding my attention right now, so a new one that actually interests me would be nice. The UI looks the same, the units look similar... if it can capture the same kind of 'feel' that the originial game had it'll be great.

In the FAQ, they said they wanted to create the same feel. There will not be new races :(? But there will be additional units. We shall see.

Yes, it will use Battle.net.

It'll probably like War3, and it'll probably suck. Everybody will migrate from Starcraft because it's *gasp* 3d, and ruin that too.
From the screenshots and the website in general, I very highly doubt it will turn into WC3. The UI is very similar. Hero units are present, yes, but all of their pictures have been from the single-player campaign, so there will obviously be hero units there.

mmorpg = ? multi blah blah blah player game?
rts = real time strategy?
MMORPG = massively multiplayer online role playing game (WoW)
RTS = Real Time Strategy (SC and SC: BW)

From the Gameplay Videos, it looks more fast paced than Starcraft.

Mobile Pylon like structures, Zergling Suicide Bombs, etc.

Protoss (for now) seem to have the ability to wage war on an unprecedented scale.

Ditto. And yeah, I'm afraid the 3D will ruin it too.

Furthermore, Starcraft presents a much higher bar than War2 and Diablo. It's simply the best RTS of all time. They said in their FAQ that they topped War2 and Diablo, which I agree with, but those tasks are child's play compared to topping Starcraft =\

As long as it's not in 640x800 I'll be happy with the game.  Although, after watching the demo it seems like this game requires an entire relook at strategy, for there seems to be a counter to everything that used to work.  This might make balance, which Starcraft had, oh boy did it have it, very hard to do.

Will any familiar characters from “StarCraft” and “Brood Wars” be returning to "StarCraft II?"

Yes. The storyline will follow the main story arc that we left off in “Brood Wars,” just a couple of years after that. You can certainly expect to see many of the returning characters.

President of game design referred to SC at "Brood Wars."  ;D

Thor ftw, fuck zerg
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

If they throw one out, a rule of thumb with blizzard is to add two years. :)

My opinion remains the same. Terran just have too much of a forward advantage in SC2 so that zerg are no longer as attractive as they once were.

Hell, even Protoss can have a quick forward with Warp in Units at Pylons.

I think the intent is to make the game more fast paced, with shorter matches (much like they did with Warcraft 3).

Average War3 game lasted... ~20 minutes? Starcraft games lasted longer? :|

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

StarCraft 2 is most certainly going to be a different feel, but I don't think it's going to suck that much.  It'll still be fun to play, imo.

Something like that is less of a "you crossed the line" and more of a "oh no no, look behind you".
