Since it doesn't say it there, I'm asuming this is a "Silicon Graphics Octane 2" since the text looks like it was copy+pasted from there.

Something makes me think it isn't worth a $30k price tag just to have a computer with an SGI sticker on it.

dual MIPS 64-bit R14000A™ 600MHz 2MB L2 cache

Am I the only one who doesn't find 600*2MHz all that great?..
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

A processor is much more than the MHz it is packing. The processors are pretty specialized for high performance work. That said, I still think the $30k is ridiculous :)

Agreed. Maybe a couple years ago it would have been worth that, but not now. I've priced out some pretty high-end computers for my old government job, roughly on par with this one, and they went for $20k - $25k new.

But tell your friend good luck, I'll be interested to know if he sells it.

My mouse says "Microsoft" on it, and I've had it for several years.

Wake up. :)

I hate Microsoft keyboards and mice. Why the hell would they remove the Insert key and leave Caps Lock intact? Wtf?

This is true, but I do enjoy their optical mouse.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Nah, it was actually like $7. And this was probably.. I think about 2000, when both optical mice and USB mice were still sort of uncommon, not to mention that it was a combination of both.
