Connection Issue
« on: May 25, 2007, 08:11:34 pm »
Are there no more working servers for Starcraft Expansion?

[19:09:25.246] INFO: Resolving ip for server: useast.battle.net
[19:09:25.250] INFO: Resolves to 12 different addresses
[19:09:25.251] INFO: Choosing address 2 [useast.battle.net/63.240.202.139]
[19:09:25.252] INFO: Attempting to connect
[19:09:35.255] ERROR: Connect failed: java.net.SocketException: Connection timed out

It seems none of them want to work, and I'm not sure how to hash on MAC.

Can someone help explain this please, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Zac

I believe the BNLS server is currently being relocated. Just wait a few days and I'm sure it'll start working again.

Untill the [vL] bnls servers are up, there is little you can do for lockdown clients (star etc.)..
You can check the status of the servers here:
http://www.jbls.org/?p=Servers
and
http://hdx.jbls.org/?p=Servers

The ip's below bnls.valhallalegends.com are all [vL] bnls servers also.
The rest are jbls servers ran by various people.

The thing is, I've used those working servers, and it still gave me the same error. Occasionally, it says the server is down and tries to get me to hash locally, but I'm on a MAC and have no idea how to do that. Could somebody please explain how to get my hashes to work because this is my only shot at getting a bot to work for my MAC.

I appreciate it a lot,

Thanks!

Actually you shouldn't be using the jbls servers for starcraft/broodwars.
I hope you caught that is the main point of what i was trying to say...

Make sure you are using clients appropriate to what the bnls/jbls server supports..
JBLS will work for d2dv,d2xp,war3,w3xp and possibly sshr, drtl etc..

the BNLS servers (Lower half of the listing) support:
w2bn, star, sexp etc..

Read the post about which server to use, and also learn which servers are which then
Please make it clear that you are using a client and server combo that CAN possibly work if you are still having the same error..

Try hdx.jbls.org with a d2dv, d2xp, war3, orw3xp client as their the only ones that can work right now until the bnls servers come back online.
See if you get an error, if so post back the details again..

Take note:

Okay, I switched to w3 client. I went to "Settings -> Global Settings -> Battle.net Login Plugin and switched the server to hdx.jbls.org

This is the error I received.

Ok, you either need to setup the local hashing, or update you're core and plugins that is an older version which does not support BNLS/JBLS, rcrs is iago's setup that is specific to javaop2, which if any rcrs servers were online would still work probably but I don't think anyone is running any..

Download the files that Joe posted make sure they're uptodate.
You can try these which I compiled around april 20th from the cvs hdx had up:
http://irconcepts.net/downloads/bnet/bots/JavaOp2.zip

If you use the one i posted, make sure to double check the config's for war3, and set game= to be war III, or tft etc.. if it gives you problems connecting.. basically just double check the configs, they're located in you're documents core folder usually will be "C:\documents and settngs\administrator\.javaop2" or something like that depends on what user account you login to you're pc with...
Also you may need to change you're folder options:
show all files
and
show hidden system files
That should allow you to be able to see that folder if you can't at first on windows...
On linux it's in the users home directory, if you login as root it's in /root/.javaop2/, if you login as the acct "user" they're in /home/user/.javaop2/ etc..

The config file is <botname>.jbb which for you would be Zac.jbb, the <botname>.jdb is the database file just so you know.. the other's serve other specific purposes open them in text editors if you want to check them out.

Anway.. see if any of that helps.

Edit: here is a link to the version joe released in these forums it's a sticky here.
