Blast from the Past (scbackstab.com)
« on: June 05, 2007, 12:21:29 pm »
Well, I've brought scbackstab.com back to life, once again. This time it should be permanent, since it's under the domain I use for everything. And for the record, it wasn't easy to move it to a new domain, Yoshi (the original author) obviously never planned for it to be moved, everything was hardcoded. But with a little bit of grep and sed magic, I got it going again.

If you have any problems, let me know. I tested a few things and it seems to be working ok.

http://scbackstab.javaop.com

(Note: I registered the domain recently (as in, this morning) so it might not be propagated yet. Be patient. the one I registered last night was spelled incorrectly. oops!)

The most interesting part is probably the Screenshot Gallery (SSG), people got a lot angrier back then. Additionally, the forum might be interesting since it's the first forum I ever posted on, so you can see what I was like in the olden days :P

SC2 brings a new generation of people, some of which haven't experienced backstabbing.  Let us hope for the best.

Haha, that one was lame. Find my first couple, I had some good ones. "The Rally in the Middle" was pure genius!

By the way, "Incandescent" and "Mado" were, and are, close friends in real life.

Haha, totally.

I wasn't a whole lot different back then, I don't think, except that I seemed to like adding lots of punctuation to the end of sentences. :)

When ever I was mad at losing my 2v2 LT matches I would always go to SCBS and laugh my ass off. It is really shocking though that iago was and still is a staff member there. I use to check that site back in 01 and I been posting here since 05 I think and have had no clue that iago was a staff member there.

Poser.
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Haha yeah, that I can agree with. That's my first forum, that Grok and Skywing posted at towards the end. I found vL through them, then e1 through vL, then I founded (sorta) x86 when I got kicked from e1. :)

oooh, are we posting forum histories?

hmm, played SC for years before getting the internet and getting on B.Net.  Then I got into bots.  Then it was MadzBots...as I recall I 'tried out' for moderator and Trust and I got it,however I couldn't do it for some reason.  Then there were random little forums and vL.  Madz died, then xL died, now I'm here.

And then I visited Stealthbot.net a while ... I just went and looked there, I cant believe that thing still exists.  Whats with SC and bots not connecting?  Did BNET finally crack down?

BNLS is crap and that is what SB uses to connect with. Sometimes it down and sometimes it not. Most people use JBLS.
