LIEK TROOST.

People from Illinois tend to suck. They seem to think that all city roads are 25MPH, regardless of the big huge sign that says 35.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

It's worse with old people around me.  They go 25 despite the speed limit being 50.  WTF?

In the US, the Speed Limit is technically the Speed Requirement, which means you need to go near it.  Going 25 in a 50 zone is dangerous, and illegal.

In cities and such, you're right. But where I'm from, it's just fine. A lot of times people are pulling horse trailers and the like, and they will often drive much slower than the speed limit. Besides that, tourists will slow down and drive much slower to get a better look at some friggin' antelope/deer/cow/etc.

Besides that, one thing everyone seems to be forgetting about this speed limit debate is going with the flow of traffic.  :-\
errr... something like that...

Uh no, it means that you shouldn't go beyond it.

At least in Arizona, it's not illegal, but you will be stopped iif you're holding up traffic with three or more cars.  When they see that you're holding up traffic with three or more vehicles unable to get around you, they'll write you a ticket for creating a dangerous situation.
