So I bought a new desktop (sorry Trust, <3)
« on: July 21, 2007, 08:12:27 pm »
Its actually way more kickass than his or what I could do if I bought his and tried to upgrade it :-\, business man, still love.

ANYHOW
I bought an HP pavillion desktop while awaiting my laptop's return (it was underpowered for things that I was doing, thats why the mother board overheated I assume).

So ya know how new computers usually come loaded with all sorts of crap? WOuld it work if I just inserted my Vista CD and used the CD key from my new PC to install it?

I assume it would, just double checking

edit:my old disc was originally an upgrade disc, but Ive been able to install completely clean versions of vista on my laptop twice

I believe OEM and retail versions of Windows use different keys, so I'd be really surprised if it worked.
What're the specs on your new box and how much did you pay? I've been pondering a new desktop a lot lately..

That's exactly what I told him.  :)
