subwoofer placement help

So I was wondering if someone can help me with sub-woofer placement I was wondering if i should put it on top of my desk or on the bottom for maximum output

I always put sub-woofers below me, which is normally the ground.

Yeah, below is the only place I've seen them placed.

:) couldn't help it but uhhh mans gotta keep dry skin away. i even have some lotion in my backpack :P
and the dell was free so its good enough for me.
and i just noticed how dirty my wall is and how there are alot of wires...

It's supposed to be on the ground, as that's where it can rumble the most. Also, don't be rapper and turn it up too loud.

Subwoofers use a lower frequency (obviously) which makes it harder for your ears to determine the location of the sound so your placement really doesn't matter much.  If it is a powerful sub, you might be annoyed by the vibrations if it were on your desk.  There really isn't a reason to put it anywhere other than the floor.
