You don't need special decoding software.... you can just remember what the tones of different numbers sound like.

You need the ability to recognize tones for that. I can't. :(

hahahaha, I already thought about that and mixed up the tones. ;D Don't forget that I work with digital audio workstations on a daily basis. Of course I slightly edited the automated message + dial tones for smoothness throughout the message.

Yeah, it sounded way too smooth/fake to be real, so I figured you'd either fabricated or modified it. At first I thought it was completely fake for that reason till I read some comments/etc. :)

I found a DTMF decoder for my phone, but all it found was two '0's, which I doubt were right. Did you use actually DTMF tones or just noises that sounded like them?

I recorded a few passes of Skype calling my voicemail. It was kinda tricky because with my current configuration, it was impossible to hear what was going on while I was recording, so I had to watch the waveform for cues.

Maybe Skype's dialer doesn't use DTMF tones? That would probably explain why half the time the dialer wouldn't do what I wanted it to.
