Title: Here Without You
Post by: Sidoh on September 21, 2005, 12:13:21 am
Yes, another WoW humor post.  =p

http://www.warcraftfiles.net/download.php?file=Without.wmv

Despite the fact that this is meant to be humerous, it's almost touching, given that the footage is from a game.

I'd like to say to whoever made that, great job, the syncing on that to the song was pretty much flawless, I can't even imagine how much work that took to be able to get the characters to work out just right.

Yes, I was very impressed with the movie.  Whoever edited it had real talent.

On a side note, when the character started out he was human, did he like get cursed, or turn into a deadthing, like. what happens in wow that causes it?

TSE told me there's a WoW virus going around, is this true? Not a real computer virus, but like a sickness. Any knowledge of this Sidoh?

Downloading the video atm.

A WoW addiction sickness or a sickness in the game?  I know that some ghosts in Wetlands can make you undead for 10 minutes, and its almost worth getting cursed then going to bg. :)

The scourge turns things into undead and/or uses their body parts to stich abominations -- the scarlet crusade opposes them, which is seemingly good, but they kill everyone else too.  :\

Good movie over all.
Very.  :)

I've heard nothing of it.  The only thing that could cause this is people who don't know how to manage their time or priorities.

Not sure, Screenor.  I didn't really thoroughly read the patch notes for 1.7.0.  I haven't heard of it yet.

Yeah, it seems so, there is a "virus", or more a "Plague" http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4272418.stm

Damnit, I just moved your post to the Trash Can! :P

It's not really funny, but it kind of is that someone made such a good movie about such a serious matter using nothing but footage from a game.

I kind of thought it belonged here more than there, but I suppose you're probably right.  I'm not going to move it, but I'll try to give the Media Center a second thought next time. :p

You do have to admit, though -- the guy who made it is really, really talented.

or, he has a lot of time on his hands. :-|
I could do shitl ike that, but I dont feel like wasting my time in that, its more of a matter of priorites if you ask me.

Not necessarily.  Free time is often invested in such a manner that talent is grown.

Perhaps his profession involves (or consists of) creating and editing movies in a similar manner.

music was better than the video. ;)
I didn't really see how the actions done in the movie fit with the lyrics of the song, but it was timed nicely. I also didn't know that all of those actions were actually possible in WoW. :|

*sigh

They weren't supposed to match the lyrics in the song.  The mood portrayed from the movie matched the same trait of the song very, very well.

If you think the movie sucks, I'd like to see you do something half as good :P

I could make something like that in Flash, it's not that hard. I am interested to see how he recorded WoW though, seems really neat.

Do it then.  I'll believe you when I see it.  I really doubt he used flash, btw.

I know he didn't use flash, but it would be extremely easy to do those fades in flash. I sure as hell couldn't do it in Windows Movie Maker.

It could easily be done in WMM, just not as nicely.

Yeah, but I don't know how to use Windows Movie Maker.. Tried it once and I was pretty lost. Though I didn't have a movie to use.. so I was kind of trying to edit a black screen.
