Title: Defragging an ext2/ext3 filesystem..
Post by: Newby on November 11, 2006, 01:55:25 am
I know that it's supposed to not suffer performance loss from fragmentation... but...

Quote
root@impaler:/home/jklinect/Downloads# filefrag Guitar_Pro_5.rar
Guitar_Pro_5.rar: 877 extents found, perfection would be 2 extents
root@impaler:/home/jklinect/Downloads# filefrag Guitar_Pro_Tabs.rar
Guitar_Pro_Tabs.rar: 3042 extents found, perfection would be 1 extent

That just ain't right. 3042?

How would I go about defragging it? Or is that not a problem?
