Title: Warlocks
Post by: Towelie on January 10, 2006, 06:48:00 pm
As some of you know, I have a warlock, lvl 17. I have invested my points in demonolgy so far, but I was wondering what I cuould have as a strategy right now at this lvl, pvp or against computers?

Grind. Grind your whole time playing, only get quests that require grinding.

When you hit 20 grind on wolves in Duskwood, 23 skeletons in Duskwood at the graveyard. 29 wolves next to the graveyard in the big field. 30-34 Hillsbrad Foothillsand there's a yeti cave below alterac mountains you grind in, then 35-38 grind alterac mountains. 38-41 Desolace. 41-47 Felaras. 47-60 instance runs.

While I agree that grinding is probably the most effective way to level, I would also like to add that it's obviously the least enjoyable.  Personally, I enjoy most of the quest lines.  Sure, there are a few that kind of get annoying, but you get over them!  I especially enjoyed the Duskwood quest lines; they were a lot of fun!

Ok, so I am in lakeshire. What should I grind on there? Everything?

Anything that's (L - 2) - (L + 3) level, where L = your level.  It's ideal to grind things that:

 a) Are grouped tightly together, so you don't have to run around trying to find them
 b) Drop things you might want.  If you're a skinner, grind mobs you can skin.  If you're a tailorer, grind humanoids so you'll get Linen/Wool.
 c) Avoid getting too far from town, it takes a long time to get back there on foot if you need something.

Again... I'd recommend against doing nothing but grinding.  It'll make the game seem boring after a while.

I look at it as, hit 60, MC runs are the reward, that and ganking and knowing you're the best in the game, no one is a higher level then you. (Not skill wise, obviously, just level.)

Although I have to admit grinding can get boring, but it's only to 47-48!

Don't worry, you almost need to grind at 57+ levels, unless you plan to do 2+ hours of instances everyday, to get as much xp as I do in an hour. :)

I do soloing of the 52/3 elites in Burning Steppes for they give 900xp to me, per kill. :)

I know there is a lvl 25 elite in the water that you can keep grinding.

You'd have to do a lot more than just MC to be "the best in the game."  Even then, there's still someone who's better than you at something (even within your own class).

Half of the population of older servers are level 60's.  That's not a very good "best," if you ask me.

Nope, but 60 !> 60.

Nope, but 60 !> 60.

What the fuck kind of notation is that? :P

A more sensible way of puting it would have been: !(60 > 60), but even still...

That's what I was saying in the first place, loser.

He was trying to say that 60 is not greater than 60, I think his notation works fine for a casual post on a message board. Yours just looks stupid. Stupid. :)

I know what he was trying to say... stupid.

He was trying to use programming notation, so I corrected him.  I don't know of a language that allows a "not greater than" operator (there's "less than," but that defeats the purpose of his "point").

Best in the game, based on level. Thank you, good day sir. I'm right because that's exactly what I said.

To me, "best" implies you are one of a few select people who are better than everyone else.  When you're level 60, it's more like "It's about time you loser!"  Not "OMGOGMOMG /bow"

Why wouldn't you do a little respectful emote to a level 60? They earned it.

eh, MC fucking sucks for gear, Due to the popularity of my gear needed, its a pain in the ass. But I do hope once you start your MC runs a fucking warrior beats you for your shadow(forgot gear). I fucking hate rogues with a passion, Due to their awesomeness of thinking any melee weapon dropped they should get dibs on.

My druid eats rogues for food.
