Title: $20 for a custom live CD by... tonight
Post by: MyndFyre on June 01, 2006, 06:32:27 pm
OK, the $20 is negotiable, but not by much.

I need a custom ISO by about midnight mountain time tonight.  I realize that's less than 9 hours away.

I need the following to be on it:

dd  (the command line disk copy utility)
samba   (to access my NT shares)
ndiswrapper   (http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net)
Wireless LAN Drivers (http://www.jinxbot.net/pub/wlan.zip) unzipped in a relatively convenient place

I'd prefer the ISO be small and something with just a terminal (DSL might work), adding Lynx would be a nice bonus.  The ISO cannot mount a hard drive, including the swap partition.

I need to dd the hard drive over my network to my NT machine with an NT share.  The command needs to go something like:

dd if=/dev/hda of=/mnt/shares/robdesktop/g/notebook-backup.raw bs=2M --verbose

where /robdesktop/g is the folder path to my server's G$ share.

That's US$20.  Maybe $30 if it works on the first try.

Please message me with a URL to the ISO download.  ;-)

Run synaptic on DSL and see if they have samba in there.

Ctrl+Alt+F2 to switch to tty1 if you want a plain terminal, or run xterm.
