Yeah yeah, North Korean talking bullshit and crying for attention again, nothing new, no big deal.
The only time I was worried about North Korean attacking someone was when they fired a short range missle over Japan, but that was just for attention.

You were worried about DPRK when you were 10 years old?
lol,i dont think i knew what n korea was when i was 10

...arent GS & I the same age?

Well, according to GS's profile he's 18.  DPRK fired the missile in 98, which was 8 years ago.  18 - 8 = 10.

:P
ohs, I thought I read someone say he was 19...oh well...I didnt give a crap about N Korea when I was 11 either...I think.  I only really remember Iraq airstrikes in ... 98? when I was 12?

North Korea tested a short range missile more recently, which landed in the Sea of Japan.

I've been keeping a close eye on this because I'm Korean.  :)

Additionally, I know Counter Strike, SP2, and my hardware don't go well together. Remember my other thread about my counter strike crashing problem? It was because of SP2.
CS runs fine for me.

Hah, it didn't work while I was on XP SP2.

SP2 = Paranoia USA.
Perhaps, but since you can turn off the paranoia features and it's required for Visual Studio 2005, I've upgraded.  It's worth it.

It also screws up a bunch of programs.

Just saw it; everything was fast paced, imo. But besides that, it was good.

Well.... I seem to ask a lot of questions here. Take it as a complement because you guys are oh so smart.

Anyways... I was being a retard and broke my XP installation (doesn't boot). After that, I installed 2000 so I could retrieve my personal files and move them to my 2000 installation and delete the XP installation. If that worked I wouldn't be here with the topic title of "HELP :)!" right?

My personal files are located on the Desktop and I am able to access C:\ (XP installation) and go anywhere I want except Documents and Settings where my personal files are. It says "Access is denied."

Suggestions?

Thank you. :).

Yeah. I am still using a Dell notebook that is about 5 years old; still in near perfect conditions.

I'm too poor to afford a new computer :(.

have you recently cleared your disk space if not do it
1. go start
2. programs
3. accesories
4. system tools
5. disk clean up

if that doesnt do it i dont know what will

or try to reinstalll it

I reinstalled many times.

Well, uh, I recommend reinstalling the game, and checking folder/file permissions (though it seems to be a problem with the OS installation configuration most likely) and if all else fails reinstall Windows.

Yeah, it's something with the OS installation. Boo.

But... I did a little more reseach and the root of the problem is SP2 and my sound card.

The solution is to remove SP2.

I found myself here: http://support.microsoft.com/KB/875350

None of the solutions work.. SP2 doesn't show up in Add/Remove Programs [the other updates, do].

Quote
Use the hidden $NtServicePackUninstall$ folder

That folder isn't in my WINDOWS folder..

I think it's because I didn't install SP2 like most people, by getting an update from Windows Update. When I installed XP, the CD install SP2.

Any suggestions?

Gaming / CS 1.6 crashing problem
« on: May 25, 2006, 10:00:10 pm »
I know a lot of you play CS 1.6, so, I'm hoping for a solution to my problem.

Whenever I go into a server and after it's done precaching resources, CS crashes with looping sounds, leaving no error message.

http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=150&p_created=1093320749&p_sid=HBzzoq8i&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NTAmcF9wcm9kcz00JnBfY2F0cz02MSw5OCZwX3B2PTEuNDsyLnUwJnBfY3Y9Mi45OCZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=&p_topview=1
I tried everything listed in that link. Nothing seems to work.

I'm not sure if this would help but, when I had Windows 2000, CS worked flawlessly, however, when I used Windows XP, then the game began to crash.

I was going to post a thread on their forums, but the registration process is a pain in the ass. Google was also no help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
