The two closest to me are the Harris and Witch ones. Sadly, they're the least contained. :(

I got this gut feeling it's gonna leap west and come down hard on my region of the state, but I'm very pessimistic. :|

Look on the bright side, at least the fire is Metal:
Quote
About 1,400 firefighters battled the Malibu fire that started Sunday morning. By late evening, it had spread more than 2,200 acres, destroying 25 structures -- including five homes, a glass company and Malibu Presbyterian Church.

Hah, I just watched a Baptist Church burn in North County. Also yeah, there's one down by the border that's coming right in my direction. Also, I live on a side of a mountain, full of brush. So, uhh, I'm planning some preparation for firefighting tonight. Hahah.

Wow.  Do you want me to throw a bucket of water from high atop the mountains?  Maybe that will help.

It was snowing here yesterday.

Haha, same! I guess Calgary isn't too far from Colorado, as the bird flies (we're just north of Montana)

Sweet!  Funny thing is, it was ~70 degrees F here on Saturday.  There was an ultimate frisbee tournament going on around campus.  All of the teams were dressed up in costumes.  My favorite was the sumo wrestlers and geisha girls (the girls were the sumo, guys were the geisha, of course).  There were also characters from Mario, Leprechauns and ninjas!

...ultimate frisbee...
I don't know about where you live, but saying that to an Ultimate player here is trouble. I've been sternly told that "Frisbee" is a brandname and it's got nothing to do with Ultimate (except being an identical disc. :) )

Haha.  I've actually never heard it called just "Ultimate," although I can see why it'd not be called ultimate frisbee.  I've also never called the disc being referred to anything other than a "frisbee" either.

I just drove down Campo road (a road nearby where the Harris fire is burning) and it's so chaotic up there. Man, lots of people evacuating... Good news for everyone in RSD and Jamul, though, it appears to be burning due West and maybe a little south.

So, I drove up to Descanso, down through Alpine, through Japatul valley, up and over to Campo road and down in there. I didn't see a fire. I didn't see a glow. This is where 3 fires are supposed to be and I didn't see/smell/feel shit. All that, and my entire neighborhood's been evacuated. 'cept me! =)

Nope. I'm out in Singing Hills/Granite Hills, on Dehesa Road.

Basically, fuck you all for making fun of my potential for getting burned, obviously the fire hates you, not me.

Seriously, best of luck to all of you.  I hope the fire decides to piss off. :\

BAD, Rancho Cucamungo (sp?)? My uncle used to live there.

Sort of. They still haven't gotten a call, but eh.

I vote for LAN over at my house.

I'd donate CA some of Virginia's rain- it's been raining since yesterday and the forecast predicts rain through tomorrow as well.  I don't want Cali to burn down just yet, I want to move there someday...

"Ultimate" is the shortened version of "Ultimate Disc." Also, frisbees are not identical to regulation discs; they're lighter, usually smaller, and break more easily.

Minnesota's been raining almost daily for the last month and a half.

I just somehow drove Campo Road, and there's no more fire anywhere West of Steele Canyon Road. Basically, Rancho is no longer at threat, at all. Not that it ever was.
