Bonus: cop is a douchebag about it.
Who whoulda thunk that a cop would be a douchebag? I mean really, go figure.
Wow. Did they take him to court for that?
The officer overreacted and overexercised his authority, true, but the man shouldn't have been so cocky about it and just signed the ticket and handled it in court. I'm sure he got off since he wasn't read his rights or told why he was being arrested.
The officer did nothing wrong.
He doesn't have to be read his rights because the officer isn't questioning him. Infact the officer is still trying to gain control the situation.
You could easily be in a situation where you sit in jail for a few days before they get around to reading you your rights...
The officer also told him why he was going to jail, and we had this argument before about the reason he gave him. Its a perfectly valid reason.
This is another prime example of why you should be calm and relax. If the guy hadn't been stupid and tried to move back towards his car he probably wouldn't have gotten tasered.
If he had just signed the ticket (because he WAS speeding regardless of how far after the sign it was) he would have been on his way. True, though, I'd be pissed getting pulled over so close to the sign but it still doesn't put me in the right.
Isn't the speed limit still what it says before the sign? :|

I'm assuming it was a speed limit change sign.
Two words: fuck that.
We've got some douchebag cops like that here, too. My mom got a ticket a few months back for going 15 under the speed limit on a residential street while changing a CD -- no other cars were anywhere near. The cop also threatened to arrest her because she didn't have a proof of insurance (it was a brand new car and she did have a signed paper from the company that a card was on its way). She didn't end up having to pay the ticket, but she paid almost as much in court fees anyway :/
This is a perfect example of why I do not like pigs.

Stereotypes, lol. It's interesting that people think that its alright to do it in some cases, but when its race its more of a deal.
Stereotypes make life easier. You just have to look at someone and then you've got a pretty good idea of what they are all about :D

More like you have a pretty good idea of what they might be all about. "Probably" is even too strong for stereotyping.
Terrorists are all a threat to innocent people. Oh, I'm sorry. Did I just stereotype a group? Pity. I must be an inconsiderate asshole.

Stereotyping is fun.

That'd be the assumption. But, there was a construction sign, and a construction flag on the speed limit sign.
I'm betting it was already 40.
