Title: Apple gives iPods to some wildfire victims

It's good to still see some compassion in the computer world these days.  :)

Compassion my foot, it's a marketing thing. "It was strictly from the heart and just wanting to help." -- I couldn't see that. :P

Either way, some kids got something for free when they lost most of everything.  That's good in my book.

I agree with iago.  If Apple actually cared they'd rebuild homes or something ... like Brad Pitt I guess.

If Apple truly cared, they'd give the people $200 a head in lieu of the iPod.

The difference is, iPods cost Apple significantly less than $200. :)

If they gave money, the parents would take it. The iPod is a good thing to give out, and within Apple's means since they make them.

It'll be interesting getting songs on them, since I bet that a lot of them don't have computers/CDs. :)
