Title: SMF or phpBB?
Post by: Killer360 on January 12, 2008, 11:48:22 AM
Was wondering which one is better? (Which one is faster, more secure, etc.) I've used phpBB in the past and it's nowhere near as fast as SMF. Why don't more people use SMF? There must be some reason they choose phpBB over it. Is it because of all the mods for phpBB?

I always like SMF more. It's faster, has more options, has a better interface, and has a better security track record.

SMF has a superior admin panel compared to phpBB.

I use phpBB because SMF didn't exist when I created my forum, and I've done too many custom mods and hand-modified published mods to give up on it.

If I were to start over, I'd pick SMF hands down.
