Was released today. Should download in the next 23 hours to help bolster the first-24-hours stats: http://www.getfirefox.com
at the office i'm still stuck on firefox 1.5. i think they have the download rate throttled or something... it gradually slows down to 0 at around 2-3 MB.
ff 3 looks pretty hot, though.
I find a lot of speed/lockup issues still, on both Windows and Linux. But besides that, I like it.
lol... fun ddosing mozilla.com :)
Until my add-ons update, I'm not doing it.
And I need a new theme, now! :( Modern Pinball's production was stopped. *tear*
You can disable plugin compatability check. I've had no problems with it so far.
I tried one of the RCs for it and decided it sucks. FF 2 for me until something better comes along..
Hmm, this looks a lot sleeker so far! 20 seconds isn't really enough to decide anything though :D

Yeah, I'm really annoyed by what they did with the Back/forward button look.

IE7? haha
We had a secret download party at work. We went around to every free lab machine and downloaded/installed FF3. It was something like 300 machines; was tricky since those labs are pretty heavily used, but there were only a few machines we had to skip.

That's one thing I really don't like about th enew version, on the rare occasion when I need to go back several pages and use the dropdown button, I have trouble finding it.
Personally, I like the new dropdown history in the location bar. That's slick.

I used to use a safari-esque skin (iFox) that didn't have the dropdown icon, so I'm used to right clicking to get the popup. I think the new skin is better than the old skin, but I still wish iFox supported ff3 'cause it's better than either. :)

No, I just said it was there.
I'm still waiting for Firebug support!
I don't like it at all. Too many little things that bug me. Back on FF2 for now.
<---- doesn't like change

Haha, I felt that way at first, too, but I managed to ease into it and now I like it. :)
I agree with Hitmen. We fear change.
I hate the pop-down thing when you're typing in the address bar. I wish it wouldn't display the title of the page. To much wasted space. Is there a way to make it stop?
I hated AwesomeBar as well, now I can't browse without it.

Agreed.
The thing is, it isn't great at first, but after a couple days it gets to "know" you, and basically gets everything on the first go.

Okay, but, if I don't like it how do I get rid of it?
By changing to the Safari browser.

My girlfriend's sister swears by Safari.. :(
safari is good, but the "use the OSX ui on windows even if it makes it dog slow and inconsistant not to mention downright ugly" mentality is what breaks the deal for me.
Well, there are basically 4 windows browsers, IE, Firefox, Opera, and Safari. Of all those, Safari seems to be the weirdest one out, so it made the most sense to make fun of.
Sheesh, take or leave the joke and move on! :P

Actually, Safari performs faster than Firefox 3, and I don't know what you mean by inconsistent.

The rendering engine may be faster, but the actual drawing of the Window chrome is dog slow and inconsistent with the look+feel of the operating system.
Not to mention pointless and ugly.
