Man, people are lame. And renting storage units for four years!? What a waste of money.
QuoteA telephone listing for Gottrell was unavailable.
hahahahahahaha!
I'm missing something. What's the point of this? Some lady stole phonebooks.... oh no!
There. I fixed your title for you, Crazed!
Hahah, nice deadly! :)

To the tune of $500k. BIG money. Someone(advertised w/DirectoryPlus) called our office wondering about getting reimbursement since they paid for books that were never delivered.

Quote from: The Article
The undelivered directories were taken from the company's warehouse and were in excess of the directories Gottrell had already delivered. In other words, everyone that was supposed to get a phone directory, got one.
There were still 100,000 EXTRA produced. That's still lost money. duh :P

Your right, but the person claiming they didn't get their books has no case. Although, you do live in the US, so, that shouldn't stop them from suing anyway.
The person ADVERTISED with DirectoryPlus. They paid for books that were never delivered. Read.

I never said they paid for books to be delivered to THEM, just that they paid to have so many books produced that never were delivered. There were extra/unnecessary copies. It might not be a huge sum they(the company advertising) lost, maybe $.003/book, but $300 is still a lot of money.

And they become outdated and old. So they're useless in the first place.
It appears you've lost it -- you're arguing with yourself now?

That has *nothing* to do with the lady stealing them, though. Is that even what you're talking about?

NOW they're useless(ish), but they weren't when the advertiser paid for them.

Yes, they were useless. Everyone already had a copy. The problem is that:
1) The advertiser paid for ads that were never delivered (read: fraud)
due to:
2) The distributor paid the woman for services that were never provided (read: fraud)
Point re: useless taken.
re: other points, exactly what I've been saying...
I care.
