Title: Music that sets you in the working mood.
Post by: Lead on August 12, 2008, 01:22:28 PM
I got a new project and was very unmotivated to do it. I started to listen to some techno music while piddling around with it and really got into it. Do you guys have any specific genre that you listen to while coding / working?

When I work I'm usually listening to dictation :(.  If I were to listen to stuff I think it'd be country or rock or original rap (Run DMC shit) or ska (all upbeat).  That's what I like when I drive.

It depends.  Sometimes I like trance-type music, other times I'm more motivated by metalish stuff.

For me, as long as there's no lyrics (or no easily understandable lyrics), it's good. :)

Depends.  If I'm doing something in English, I'll usually listen to foreign music, and if I'm doing something in Japanese or Russian, I'll listen to English.  Soft classical is always an option, but I don't have much.

80s-90s Hip-Hop cant be too loud or fast and it must be coming out of the speakers just loud enough for me to hear yet not loud enough for me to really notice.

I used to be like iago and only was able to seriously work with music with no lyrics. However, as of late, I've been listening to Radiohead quite a bit and I realized that for some reason their music just really works when I'm working. I listen through the entire In Rainbows album while working and I don't have any trouble concentrating. :P
