Found and modified a recipe; I made it last weekend with rice and a stir fry, and it was awesome!

It can probably be used as a base for a wonton-like soup (or other soups) as well, since you're basically preparing a mushroom broth.

That's a lot of thyme.
I thought so too, and my mom said not to do it. But I did, and it turned out rather well.
I suspect that since you strain it out, and since it's fresh, it doesn't affect the taste as much as dried thyme. But I don't really know.
It's been so hard to find the thyme to do things lately.
I know what you mean! And this recipe wastes a lot of thyme, too! The recipe requires a lot, and you never get it back!
Of course, I would have wasted it anyway..
