I've been having a lot of fun painting monsters lately!
This is my nightgaunt, re-done. The original is here (http://www.skullsecurity.org/ospap2/picture.php?picture_id=4578). Obviously, I made him a lot more cartoony than he was, but I personally like that. I like the high contrast look, even if it isn't realistic.

Next, is an ogre. Just to prove to myself that I could, I tried to do him more realistic and less cartoon. That got boring fast (but hopefully it's obvious from the flesh tones and other colours), so I decided that I'd give him a colourful patchwork jacket. I imagined him gathering up fabrics from his victims, but running out right at the end and having to substitute a pink blanket he found. :)

And finally, this is a Mindflayer (aka, Illithid), a classic D&D monster. I have no idea what they're supposed to look like, and I was wanting to try out some new colours, so I did him purple with a green-blue cloak and a yellow shirt (for contrast). The colour might be a little too much, I haven't decided yet, but whatever. I also tried a new background with him, instead of folding a piece of white paper I bent it upwards. Dunno if it's even noticeable. :)

Just for reference, here's a group picture of all my recent monsters together (it helps to know the scale):

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat?
I deleted/re-uploaded a better version of the vampire (I sized it with a better program):

And, this one I just finished today. I don't know what he is, so I painted him green and called him Hugo.. I doubt he was supposed to be either:

Is the vampire named "Count LaCouch?"
He is. I talk about why in another thread (hint: it's an anagram)
Hugo is an anagram for ogre with a speech impediment. (oguh).

Haha, good try, but not quite. :)
Hugo is a reference to Bart's evil (well, good) twin brother (http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Hugo_Simpson) on a Simpsons halloween special. Don't ask why, but I liked the idea. :)
My second choice was calling it Kevin, after Cletus' son ("I have sired a dumb-dumb, a mush-head, a whatsit, a dogboy, and something with a human face and fish body what we called Kevin. But my young'uns is not dirty players!"). I'm probably going to use Kevin for an appropriate fig. :)
Count Lacouch = Count Chocula , the cereal vampire.
