Title: Very cool 'crackme' from eset
Post by: iago on May 27, 2009, 11:27:53 AM
http://gynvael.coldwind.pl/download.php?f=confidence_eset_crackme.zip

The goal is to figure out what the password is.

I spent a couple hours on that last night. It's tricky, but I think I've peeled back the layers and am ready to find the solution. It's actually really interesting! :)

There are solutions online, since it's older -- I don't recommend using them, obviously.

Haha, quitter! :D

One of my minions (students?) tried and failed pretty fast.. I don't think he tried hard enough, though! :)

If anybody cares, check out my result:
http://svn.skullsecurity.org:81/ron/security/2009-eset-crackme/outline.txt

That's a step by step of what I did and the walls I hit. I recommend at least trying before reading that, though -- you won't understand it if you don't (it's just point form).

If you want to see all the files I used (little scripts and stuff), check out the folder:
