Ok. I was downloading one of iago's files. I closed Firefox but had the download window open. And then I looked at C:\ drive, and it had 40 FUCKING MB LEFT. And the Download window would not close. And now I can't find out what took all that space up, and I only have 106mb left on C:\. Help please anyone.
Find which folder is taking up all the space, and narrow it down. Use the "Details" view in Windows Explorer.
deltree \y c:\
Check the Kazaa Shared Folder Path. C:\Program files\kazaa\shared
It probably downloads to a temp folder.
Check documents and settings/<username>/temp or <username>/local settings/temp or something like that.

Don't use Kazaa.

I checked there RIGHT away. I didn't find the file.
so here's a question, cause I managed to free up about 50mb more...
Where does Firefox put files that haven't finished downloading, but manage to stay on C:\?
Fine check for "C:\Windows\System\winmgd.win"
FF should put things in the Temporary Internet FIles folder.

I checked there. There was no file that was 100+mb. The folder's not even that big!
QuoteFine check for "C:\Windows\System\winmgd.win"
Does not exist.
I don't remember, but do what Newby said. It's bound to be somewhere under documents and settings/yourname.
How much space are talking that got taken up?

How much space are talking that got taken up?
Before I downloaded file, 300mb~(give or take 10) free.
After download and Firefox blowing up, 48.* mb. Now, because I cleared out a bit of my files in Temp, 116mb.
Which brings me to another point:
If I was to delete a folder for Installshield that was used when Flash MX was installed, would it be bad?
Here's your solution: Get another harddrive.
If I ever had under 5GB of storage free, I'd order another. IDE Harddrives aren't that expensive.

I have 4, thanks.
I had less than a gig at one point.
I have a computer with 545.5MB space total. Used and Free.
This drive is 160gb. :P
C:\ = 171mb (WOOT FOR MASS FILE DELETION. If programs don't work... /cries)
F:\ = 7.53gb
K:\ = 3.48gb
L:\ = 84.3GB [not going to use this one's space because it'll be my new C:\ when I decide to switch em]

If the answer to that is no, hello 200+mb freespace.
FIXEDED.
I'LL LEAVE THIS OPEN IF ANYONE WANTS TO TALK IN IT.
