Title: Whats a good calendar system?
Post by: CrAz3D on September 02, 2009, 04:14:40 PM
Sunbird maybe?

I want to use it on two win XP desktops, and a Mac OSX.  (yeah, this is for work).

We currently use Lotus Organizer from 1999, and dont have a disc to install on a computer that was just reformatted :(

For now it looks like everything will be sunbird.  Gotta convince my boss to use it, and then to drop the paper calendars (which means I dont have to shout across the office when he wants to schedule something weeks in advance)

I use Google calendars, but only because it's synced with my phone.

If you download the custom roms, you get exchange support.  Mine has it be default.  :D

I'm forced to use Outlook/Exchange 2003 at work, it's massively lame.

You can use Snow Leopard as a bridge to keep your Outlook calendars synced with your Google calendars. The Exchange server has to be 2007, though!

I really liked using Outlook/Exchange calendars at Nortel. Everything revolved around the Outlook client being able to do email, schedule appointments, see when everyones available for a new meeting, see where people are at right now, etc. It was really handy.

I would have to set up an exchange server...too much work.  Easier to just save the calendar to one computer and read off that.

I just don't like the execution.  The software's look and feel, user interface, etc. could be better.  Some things are just annoying... at least with 2003.  I think 2007 is better probably.

OMG, was I high when I wrote this or something?  I mean, I know I occasionally miss some typos, but damn.

I wonder if I was using my G1.
