Title: UC proposing 32% fee increase by next fall

What do you think? I think it's crap, but hey, I don't see any students outlashing in masses over this (because most of their parents are paying for school) so it'll probably pass. :(

Blame Californian's inability to elect sane politicians in conjunction with the lack of sane Californians willing to run for elected office there.

Yeah, but the parents probably carry more weight than the students do. It's just a matter of how many parents will actually say something.

Holy shit! That's insane! 32% in one year is a bit heavy. At my uni, they'll raise it maybe $50 in fees if there's a huge need for it. And if tuition is raised, it's generally like $5/credit hour.

they raised ours 15%

Ech, jesus.  That's a bit high.  Hopefully they're also raising their graduate stipends...
