Title: Computer Help
Post by: deadly7 on July 03, 2005, 06:28:31 PM
Ok. So today I was deleting a file (Fuunni.exe) because it was virused. I did so in safe mode. After I Rebooted, NONE OF MY WIDNOWS THINGS WORK.
I cannot use the internet. I do not get any audio. I cannot get a windows skin. Trend Micro does not work.

Help, PLEASE.

The virus probably reprogrammed stuff to run through it, and now that it's gone nothing runs.  I'm not sure that it's possible to fix the problem.

I'm sorry. By "Virus" i meant Adware.
More specifically,

ADW_Betternet.F (I believe) is what it's called, according to Trend Micro.

@R.a.B.B.i.T: I have two computers hooked up to my network. I'm on the second (crappier) one.

Most likely this file raped you anally. My suggestion: Reinstall Windows.

Bleh. I'd REALLY like to avoid the Reinstalling Windows thing.

Also, the computer runs like it would in Normal safe mode but it doesn't keep the same processes.

You're going to have to reinstall it. There's really no other way around it (except for patching every possible system file that was affected by the virus).

As Kp said on vL, you can reinstall just the OS.

Why not just move the deleted files back? :-\

Works now. Bro reformatted C:\ and now it just needs to pick up my other 3 drives! Any suggestions? BIOS wrong?

Does it detect them?

(My Computer -> Manage -> Disk Management)

Drives or partitions? Check the BIOS if they are detected.
