Title: Treasure Island
Post by: Armin on November 22, 2005, 08:12:59 PM
Well, I have this project due tommorow for the book Treasure Island. I have to pick 5 songs to put on a CD for any single character in the book as their top favorite songs, then I have to explain why. If you can help out and give me any good ideas, that'd be great. Right now I'm reading the summary of the book at www.sparknotes.com.

What a horrible project... BUT...

1. Carcass - Regurgitation of Giblets
2. Impetigo - Dis-Organ-Ized
3. Napalm Death - You Suffer
4. Ghoul - Mechanized Death
5. Engorged - Architeuthis

You figure it out. I have the book, I just never read it. :)

I need something a bit deeper. I decided that I'm going to describe Jim, and what I have so far is This Love from Pantera. This basically describes how he thought he loved money and adventure, but it ended up being twisted (like said in the song), and only caused pain.

I need 4 more like that.

I dont even think I read the book. I saw the Muppent movie about it and that was it.

I would suggest Powerman 5000- When worlds collide for Jim. Becuase his world came crashing down when he found it he was a pirate I belive right? is that right?

Jim isn't a pirate by blood, and only his only behavier that's pirate-ish is when he killed Hands.

Well, the lyrics in You Suffer are "you suffer but why?" and it could hold true to his life. After he finds out that money and adventure caused him pain, what was the point in living? I bet he asked himself "I suffer, but why?"

(Plus, it's only a second long or so, and since it counts as one song, she can't complain. :))

I doubt that would be one of Jim's favorite songs.
